Opponent preparation
Be Ready Before You Sit at the Board
Preparing for an opponent used to be slow and fragmented.
Before a tournament round, players would search the opponent’s name on Google, browse multiple websites, download a few games, and try to guess patterns from incomplete information.
With Chesspertise, all of that is now obsolete.
As long as you have a tablet or laptop, you can prepare for your next opponent in seconds, from a single, dedicated tool.
How to Prepare
From the Opponent Preparation page, you have two clear options:
Player Dossier – a structured overview of your opponent
Player Analysis – deeper exploration of games and openings
Both are designed to work together, without manual data collection.
Player Dossier – Understand Your Opponent at a Glance
In the Player Dossier, you simply start typing your opponent’s name.
Chesspertise intelligently assists you while you type, making it easy to find the correct player.
Within seconds, you get a clear profile that includes:
Playing Style Overview
A high-level evaluation of the player’s tendencies, such as:
Aggressiveness
Decisiveness
Versatility
Consistency
This gives you an immediate sense of how the player approaches the game, not just what they play.
Performance by Color
See how your opponent performs:
As White
As Black
For example:
White: 50% — Black: 40%
This helps you understand where the player feels more comfortable.
Create Player Card – Unique to Chesspertise
With one click on “Create Player Card”, Chesspertise generates a complete preparation package for your opponent.
This creates four dedicated cards:
Opening tree as White
White games to analyze
Opening tree as Black
Black games to analyze
This step transforms raw data into a ready-to-use preparation tool.
Opening Repertoire and Performance Overview
In addition to the cards, Chesspertise provides:
A general overview of the opponent’s opening repertoire (White and Black)
Performance by year
Top opponents faced
This helps you identify trends, evolution, and long-term preferences.
Player Analysis Page – All Your Preparation in One Place
Once a Player Card is created, it is saved automatically in the Player Analysis section.
Here you will see:
A White card
A Black card
Each card includes two buttons:
Opening
Displays the opponent’s opening tree in visual form.
You can expand specific lines and instantly see what is most likely to appear in your game.
Games
Opens a dedicated page with all collected games for that player:
Games played as White
Games played as Black
From here, you can analyze, annotate, and prepare with real examples.
Prepare Smarter, Not Longer
Opponent preparation should be fast, structured, and reliable.
Chesspertise turns scattered online searches into a single, intelligent workflow, helping you sit at the board already knowing:
What your opponent plays
How they play
What positions you are most likely to face
